MakeupMania.com: Fabulous Online Makeup and Effects
Last year, when I did Zombie Camp, I bought a lot of makeup. I ended up buying most of it from Makeup Mania, as they seemed to have the best prices and selection. Overall, I was pretty much too busy to notice anything about the experience except that I got my stuff and zombie camp was really fun.
Now I’m doing Zombie Nerf War, and I needed some refills. Particularly, I had to have more of the greatest stuff in the world, Kryolan EyeBlood. Now, pay no attention to the ingredients label. It can’t possibly have actual iron rust in it. You’re obviously making that up. Just drip some more in your eyes, and all you can see is red anyways. Red and pain. It also looks freaking awesome, this is the stuff they used in 28 Days Later to make the infected look so incredibly terrifying. Not to be confused with what they used in 28 Days to make Sandra Bullock look so incredibly terrifying; I have no idea what that was.
So I google around, and lo I find myself returning to Makeup Mania. I drop a bottle of the eye goop and some Tinsley Transfers in my cart, and then it occurs to me that I’m a lazy bastard who’s ordering stuff on a Tuesday, when he needs it by Friday. I decided to go through with it anyways, even throwing all caution to the wind and doing 2nd day shipping instead of overnight. A few hours later, I got an email from the (presumably) lovely Eva, as I had mentioned in the comments for my order that I needed it by Friday.
The end result is that she pushed my order through to ship out what could be (the EyeBlood) by Wednesday, and I can see now that UPS has it marked as Delivered. What was not in stock at that moment, she offered to priority mail to me immediately when it came in, so there’s even a chance I could get that today as well. But the important thing is the EyeBlood, I cannot emphasize enough how cool this stuff is. That guy who said it felt like crushed glass had no idea what he was talking about, it feels fine to me.
