The health benefits seem obvious to me too, but your statement about guilt-

I read an article last week, in a healthy food/cooking magazine. It was about small farmers and organizations that promote "natural" meat- no feed lots, babies stay with mom until she weans them, no unnessesary antibiotics, etc...

Having grown up surrounded by small farms, all the animals I knew/ate/milked were natural, so I connect meat in grocery stores with the happy cows and piggies of my childhood. I always sorta knew about the bad stuff, but this article really hit close to home.

For the first time in my life, after reading this article, I looked at the grocery store meat case on Monday and was overcome with guilt. I actually decided that I didn't want to buy hot dogs, because of the poor little cows who were forced to eat grain before their stomachs were mature enough. The sad cows are more important than the delicious hot dogs.
