New scientific review shows vegetarian diets cause major weight loss
(thanks BoingBoing). Kind of obvious to me, but it’s good to see it backed up with data. When I first went vegan, I lost about 15 lbs. After about 9 months, I went back up maybe 10 lbs, but the huge thing for me is that while previously I had to make an effort not to overeat, I don’t even think about it anymore. In fact, I often find myself more concerned about trying to eat the fattiest foods possible, rather than avoiding them.
I enjoy my food way more now, and most importantly, I’ve lost all concept of any sort of food/guilt association.
