Game Surplus: Great Online Boardgame Store
I decided to pick up some new board games for this weekend, but my local game shop, Legends, sucks. I checked out a few online shops, but they either didn’t have a good selection, had a crappy website, or had no different shipping options (I needed them to be here before the weekend). I finally found Game Surplus, which satisfied most of my needs.
So I ordered Conquest of the Empire and Puerto Rico on Monday afternoon. I selected 2nd day shipping to be sure it would get there on time. Yesterday (Tuesday), I get home and the box is on my porch.
Now, I was already super happy about having my order in just over 24 hours from the time I entered it. Most online retailers haven’t even shipped it by that point. Then, I check my email, and there’s a message from them.
It’s a refund.
They actually noticed that they could get it to me in one day with standard UPS ground, so they’ve refunded me the $4.50 charge I paid for the expedited shipping. This is absolutely remarkable to me. I’m so used to buying stuff on ebay where I pay $15 for shipping and the box gets there with a couple $0.37 stamps, that this just blows me away.
Game Surplus, you’ve just earned yourself a customer for life.
