LM170E01 Arrived Last Night
My LM170E01 panel was waiting for me on the porch when I got home today. I was initially shocked by the heft of the box, and the weight on the shipping label of 9 lbs. I was further surprised when I opened it up at just how huge it is. But upon pulling out some screws and cracking it open (harder than it sounds, as the plastic cover was held on by internal clips that could not be seen and had to be popped by wedging a screwdriver into the panel), I was happy to see that much of the weight is a thick metal backing which attaches to the computer it was built for.
Checking out the cabling met with a great discovery, as the 13 (iirc) pin cable next to the LVDS is simply the combination of what I hope to be the standard 5-pin power cable that the LV-673 accepts directly, and the proprietary wiring to the buttons on the front of the casing. This means it should be a simple task to look up find the inverter schematics on google and map the proper pins to the board, then maybe even route the front buttons to a serial input so that I can control brightness and contrast with them.
